Dr. Priyesh T. Thakkar is a graduate of La Salle University in Philadelphia. He obtained his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He went on to join Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown, PA for an Internal Medicine residency where upon graduation he was awarded Resident of the Year recognition.
He then completed his fellowship training in Nephrology and Hypertension from Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia. Along with his medical degree, Dr. Thakkar earned a Master of Business Administration in Medical Management and Health Administration from St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia. Dr. Thakkar is a Fellow of American Society of Nephrology, as well as a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. He is a member of the Medical Advisory Board of National Kidney Foundation of New Jersey.
In addition to his private practice, Dr. Thakkar is the Division Director of Nephrology at Atlanticare Regional Medical Center. He is also involved in teaching medical students and residents with roles as a Clinical Assistant Professor with Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine. He has been recognized as a top doctor in the field of Nephrology. Dr. Thakkar has been practicing as a Nephrology and Hypertension specialist since 2004.
